Mehran Gharleghi

Director

Mehran Gharleghi is an architect, researcher, and designer. He received his M.Arch in Emergent Technologies and Design from the AA School of Architecture and is Studio Tutor in the Emtech programme and 5th Year Technical Studies Tutor at the AA. He has worked for distinguished architectural practices including Plasma Studio and Foster and Partners in London. In 2009 he co-founded Studio INTEGRATE with Amin Sadeghy. His work employs sophisticated design and analysis tools along with rigorous physical material studies to synthesize design and performance, establishing new relationships with the built environment and ultimately leading to novel spatial experiences.

Amin Sadeghy

Director

Amin Sadeghy received his Master of Science from the Emergent Technologies and Design Programme at the Architectural Association. He is an architect and researcher and has been collaborating with prominent architects in Iran and the UK since 2000 including Foster and Partners in London. Amin is Director of studio INTEGRATE. His research has won 2 international awards: AA Fab Research Cluster Symposium 2009 and International Prize for Sustainable Architecture and he has lectured at the Architectural Association, Acadia 2009 and Smartgeometry 2009. Mehran Gharleghi and Amin Sadeghy exhibited their Responsive Pneumatic Systems research at London’s Design Festival 2009.

Evan Greenberg

Coordinator

Evan Greenberg is a researcher and design consultant based in London. In both research and practice, he focuses on the application of computational fluid dynamics, biomimetics, fabrication processes, and the behaviour of responsive material systems at the architectural scale. He has worked with architects, engineers, artists and fashion designers around the world. Evan gained his Master of Science with Distinction in Emergent Technologies and Design from the AA School of Architecture and is Studio Master in the Emtech programme as well as Technical Studies Tutor at the AA. He has lectured and taught internationally and was co-director of the AA San Francisco Visiting School (Biodynamic Structures) from 2009 to 2011.

Christina Doumpioti

Christina Doumpioti is an architect and received her Masters of Architecture (Dist) from the AA. She has previously worked at Arup Associates as computational designer and as a studio Master in the Emtech graduate programme at the AA. She has been co-director of the Biodynamic Structures AA Visiting School and organising committee of the Smartgeometry workshop and conference 2012. She has taught and lectured on biological inspired and material-driven design in different schools worldwide and she is currently lecturing at the Architectural Association as TS tutor. Since 2011, Christina is a PhD Candidate at the Royal College of Art. Her research is focused on the expression and performance of architectural environments through constant exchanges between energy and dynamic matter.

Tomasz Mlynarski

Tomasz Mlynarski has a background in on-site construction, fabrication, and pre-fabrication at a range of scales. As an expert in BIMĀ modellingĀ he explores the management, organisation and coordination of complex building information systems in constant growth. With studio INTEGRATE Tomasz continues to examine the link between various design tools and modes of production at the architectural scale. Tomasz holds Architecture degrees from the University at Buffalo and the Architectural Association.

Josef Musil

Josef Musil is an architect, researcher and design consultant. He received his post-professional M.Arch at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was as a Fulbright Scholar. He has worked in the UK, Germany and US as an architect and researcher. Currently he is part of the distinguished Specialist Modelling Group within Foster and Partners in London. In his research and practice he focuses on parametric modeling, physical computation, interactive design tools and application of multi-agent systems in modeling of complex forms and in definition of new design processes.
